Year
2012

The new Badalona promenade is designed on the scale of the urban esplanade built on the industrial past of the city, establishing a dialogue with the recovered natural landscape.

An accurate topographical work closes the perspective of the beach against the new coast, creates squares that allow the relationship between both sides of the railway in Eduard Maristany old bridge and the access sequence of the city to the sea in Martí i Pujol.

The integration of accesses to Pont del Petroli (Oil Bridge) on the way of the promenade reinforces the way in its central part.

The right choice of materials and the scale that the lighting system gives the whole area, helps to understand the landscape from a metropolitan area point of view.

The wooden and concrete parallel walkways resolve the difficulties of land ownerships (limits of the MTZ, Maritime Terrestrial Zone) linked to the distribution of vegetation of five different species of palms trees that, associated to a tamarisk plantation all along the entire way, give the promenade a unique character.
