“Architecture & Human Rights” (ARCH+H.R.) is an international non-profit studio of applied research. Our main goal is to materialize human rights through Architecture. This studio is connected to the University of Sassari UNISS and based in the Chilean Patagonia (AEiDH-Chile foundation), Copenhagen Denmark (ARCH+H.R.), and Rome Italy (ARCH+H.R Italy).
Our work is inspired and founded in the theory and pilot research projects that Jorge Lobos have developed during 40 years: ‘Cultural Architecture’ (1990-96) ‘Emergency Architecture’ (2004) ‘Architecture Is a Human Right’ (2006-10) ‘Global Bridges’ (2020) among others. This work have been in collaboration with different teams and hundreds of professionals, teachers, students, and friends around the world; Chiloé archipelago, Santiago de Chile, Madrid, Porto, Barcelona, Copenhagen, Sardinia, Rome, Venice, plus many universities around the world as: FAU, Chile, ETSAM Madrid, ETSAB Barcelona, UdelaR Uruguay, Escola da Cidade Sao Paulo, Eduardo Mondlane Mozambique, RTU Riga, KADK Copenhagen, IUAV Venice, Chalmers Gothenburg, and UNISS Sardinia.
ARCH+HR looks for setting up our profession as a useful tool for social equality and architectural quality in a concept that we call (E)quality.
