Toy as Architecture: Part 2 | Fairyland Playscape
Hong Kong

Our studio, Groundwork, was founded in London in 2007 for experimental architectural, urban and landscape design and for the inquisition of our identity as Chinese architects. Our seminal works about Hyper-Density were exhibited at the London Architecture Biennale in 2008, Hong Kong Shenzhen Architectural Biennale in 2009, 2011 and 2013. We have grown within the recent years and we are actualizing more and more of our visions in Asia and around the world. Our practice celebrates simplicity, technology, research and humanity, and most important of all, our clients’ vision. Our design approach are minimalistic: we love constraints; thus, we love working with both tangible and intangible material, especially lighting. On the other end our design spectrum, we focus on the application of our theme on humanity. Our charity arm: BEEs(Blue Eye Entity) have helped various NGOs in Hong Kong with designing of civic buildings, elderly homes and home improvement projects. For the past two years, we have helped Tung Wah Group of Hospital repainting over 50 elderly homes in Hong Kong. We are proud to be from Hong Kong and it is my only wish to contribute to the dynamic of our city.
