Announced by the artist on his Instagram account, "JR au Louvre" will be on display in Cour Napoléon, the Louvre's main courtyard, from 25 May to 28 June 2016. According to the museum, "JR has set his sights on one of the Louvre’s symbols, the Pyramid, which he intends to transform with a surprising anamorphic image."

JR's simple yet intriguing ripped photo of the courtyard eliminates the Pyramid, piquing interest in just how he will utilize his signature point-of-view photographs to similar ends. More than making the Pyramid disappear, a more appropriate question would be, "What image will replace it?"  If his previous work is any indication, it might just be a pair of eyes looking back at us.
