Hotel InterContinental Prague was the first international hotel in the city in, built in 1974, designed by the Czech architect Karel Filsak in a brutalism style.
The new interior design is conducted in the spirit of contemporary design that sensitively respects the hotel's original architecture. The airy interior highlights the atmosphere of the place; we find ourselves in the very centre of Prague, which penetrates through the large windows into the interior space. Desingning the interior in 2012 and 2016 was a challenge because 20 years ago we have designed the original design of the premises and the extension of construction of a new fitness and swimming pool /glazed mass dominating the northern outlook from the river front/.
Over the course of 20 years, we have proposed new interior spaces twice. So, as the design change in the time, the materials and technologies are changing as well.
/Nothing changes as fast as interior design./
In all areas of the hotel we respected the existing visible concrete which was revealing the supporting structure of the building, as the main characteristic of this architecture.
In the restaurant was preserved with a ceiling made of artistic wooden reliefs.
The new element in hotel was the location of the Show room. Rolls-Royce is a part of the lobby hall with the entrance from the street.
