The construction of the new Bliedersdorf-Nottensdorf primary school marks an important milestone for education in the two villages to the west of Hamburg. In keeping with the surrounding buildings, a place is being created for a new small village community that is growing out of the children of the villages of Bliedersdorf and Nottensdorf. The new building, which meets the diverse requirements of modern school life and at the same time impresses with its childlike character, creates a common place of learning and living: »BLINO«.

The school is designed as an ensemble of small, individual buildings that convey a sense of security and are tailored to the various uses: learning buildings, communal areas, canteen, administration and sports hall. A clear zoning of the outdoor areas ensures orientation and safety - with a playground, »Kiss & Ride Zone«, school garden, small woods and orchards as places to play and learn in nature.

Architecturally, the single-storey building blends harmoniously into the townscape and remains child-friendly and inviting thanks to barrier-free access and individual façades in clinker brick colors. Colored accents differentiate the functions: Yellow for the learning houses, turquoise for communal areas and green for the sports hall.

The central foyer serves as the heart of the building and a multifunctional meeting point. It connects flexibly with the canteen and the music room, which also serves as a stage. Pictograms and well thought-out room references facilitate orientation and strengthen the children's identification with their new school.
With warm wooden elements, colorful surfaces and open learning studios, a friendly atmosphere is created in which learning, encounters and togetherness take center stage - in the spirit of a lively village community.
