When a young couple is building a new house next to their parents' old house, they need to create harmony and contrast between the old and the new. It is important to create an atmosphere between the old and the new, rather than simply inserting new products.
In this project, the tip of the long approach, which is a characteristic of this site, was made to function as an intermediate area, creating a "third space" as a theme. The entrance to the new house is on the second floor via the approach stairs, and the entrance to the photographer husband's studio is on the first floor, creating a three-way approach square between the family home, studio, and new house. The white wall contrasts with the dark brown exterior of the old house, and the approach wall with its large wings spread out in front of the house, and the staircase that serves as the stage, all function as stage sets.
