Arte filmmaker Anais Le Guennec sets her sights on Manhattan with "History of New York Skyline," an overview of the island's centuries-long architectural history in just twelve minutes.
New York is a city of icons, many of them skyscrapers that define the skyline: the 1913 Woolworth Building, the 1930 Chrysler Building, and One World Trade Center from this century, among numerous others. The documentary touches upon these buildings (the last with commentary by yours truly), but it also discusses Manhattan's role as a major seaport and points out less notable buildings that are nevertheless important in the history of the city's ever-changing skyline.
