On June 27 MoMA PS1 unveiled the 14th Young Architects Program installation in the courtyard of its Long Island City, Queens, home. Party Wall is designed by CODA and will be in place until the end of August.
An inclined, self-supporting steel armature is covered with wood scraps from skateboard production; large, water-filled balloons suspended from the frame help to balance the construction. The wood cladding provides shade as pools underneath help to cool off summer revelers. For more happenings from June, see this week's Insight feature.
