The Wall Street Journal gives its 2013 architecture and design honors to David Adjaye and Thomas Woltz.
The Wall Street Journal has announced its WSJ. Magazine's 2013 Innovator Awards, which includes architect David Adjaye and landscape architect Thomas Woltz in its list of seven. In the awards write-ups, WSJ cites Adjaye as "[having] produced some of the most compelling architecture of the 21st century," and describes Woltz's work as "about knowing the spirit—what the ancients called the genius loci—[and] tailoring it for both humans and animals, and favoring the subtle over the showy." Adjaye and Woltz accompany Daft Punk (entertainment), Nick D'Aloisio (technology), Alice Waters (humanitarian), Pat McGrath (fashion), and Do Ho Suh (art) as 2013 Innovators.
