The athletes' village spans an area of 52 hectares and covers the three municipalities of Saint-Denis, Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine, and L’Île-Saint-Denis. More than 2,800 apartments will be home to around 10,500 competing athletes starting on July 26. The construction, which took over three years, was led by multiple architects. Among the principal architects were the renowned firms Soa, Lambert Lenack, CoBe, and KOZ. For the French architectural firm KOZ, this project was particularly special, as they emphasized:
"Beyond the scale of the project, we were also impressed by the number of parties involved—four developers and seven architects were engaged in the construction. Lastly, the media attention surrounding it is immense."

A Low-Emission Construction Focus

The project prioritized low-emission construction. As a result, the innovative building process incorporated various low-carbon and bio-based materials, including locally produced low-carbon concrete and wood. Over 90% of the construction wood used for wall and facade frames was processed in France. The eco-friendly design also includes bioclimatic gardens, green terraces, and multiple rooftops equipped with photovoltaic panels. Sustainability was also a key focus for future use—after the Olympic Games, the village will be repurposed into residential and commercial spaces.

Griesser Sun Protection Products with a Newly Created Color

Alongside the Swiss delegation of athletes, Swiss company Griesser is also present in the Olympic Village. In the Belvédères district, which will house about a quarter of all athletes during the Games, various buildings have been equipped with different sun protection solutions.

Among the installations are:

- The bestselling Lamisol 70 venetian blinds, known for their clean lines and excellent darkening capabilities
- The highly weather-resistant Grinotex III venetian blinds, which offer enhanced security due to their high-lift design
- The Tradi PUR roller shutters, a self-supporting system that ensures quick and easy installation

With features like perfect daylight management, Griesser’s sun protection solutions contribute to a pleasant indoor climate and improved energy efficiency, reducing both heating and cooling energy consumption.

"Griesser prevailed with its high-quality products. Additionally, their sun protection systems have already proven themselves in other of our projects," said architectural firm KOZ regarding their choice of Griesser products.

In total, 265 Lamisol 70 venetian blinds, 7 Grinotex III blinds, and 108 Tradi PUR roller shutters were installed throughout the Olympic Village.
