Low-energy house in Raeren.
This building is set on 3 plots in an allotment.
The first part of the house facing est-west is perpendicular to the road and entirely clad with natural stone. The slightly sloping natural ground is retained as far as possible in this area. The service areas (wellness and sports areas, cellars, garden storage, laundry room etc.) are all in the basement. The garage, a home cinema and the kids’ rooms on the ground floor allowing the children to be independent from the rest of the house.
The second part of the house facing nord-south is anchored on the ground with stilts. The volume is timber-framed and clad in wood. It contains the living areas, the study-library and the master suite. A covered patio separates the living room from the night area. A covered outside passageway regulates overheating with motorized blinds. To reach the garden below, two self-supporting galvanised steel staircases lead to terraces.
