New construction of a 4-star hotel on the bank of the river Lahn.
In the immediate vicinity of the Emser Therme, also planned and built by 4a Architekten as early as 2012, a new Spa Hotel is being built on the banks of the Lahn. The 4-star hotel comprises 84 double rooms, seminar rooms, a restaurant and, as a highlight, a rooftop bar on the top floor. In order to realise this extensive space programme on the narrow building site along the Lahn, a four-storey, elongated building was developed which gently embeds itself into the landscape and takes up design elements of the Emser Therme in form and materiality.
The ground floor houses the foyer, restaurant and bar as well as the seminar rooms, the latter facing south. The adjoining rooms, on the other hand, are on the street side and form a protective back to Viktoriaallee. Here, large-scale glazing as well as projections and recesses in the façade design lend the new building a loose and transparent appearance in the urban space. For maximum quality of stay, all rooms on all four levels are south-facing, with an unobstructed view of the Lahn. The Thermenhotel thus offers an ambience for feeling good and relaxing - in addition, the entire bathing and wellness programme of the neighbouring Emser Therme is available to guests via a bathrobe corridor on the first floor.
