The site is located along a busy highway in Tondabayashi, Osaka.
This is one of four restaurants and a parking lot to be developed on what was originally a farm field. While the other three stores are standard eating and drinking establishments along a trunk road typical of suburban areas, this project was planned as an open café that is set back from the trunk road and opens on the opposite side of the road, in response to the client's desire to realize a different world view.
The project was designed to treat the site as a single world, with a long approach to allow customers to enjoy the world view of the site as they enter the café. The café is supported by two parallel walls, and the roof is open on three sides except for the main road. The main hall, sunroom, private rooms, and terrace seating are arranged in different spaces so that visitors can enjoy the world view of the site as various spaces along with the surrounding plantings.
The view from the open terrace and sunroom is so exciting and liberating that it is hard to believe that it is located along a major road. The store is a place where you can enjoy a moment of extraordinary pleasure by relaxing and savoring coffee in such a space.
