The project consisted of the construction of a single-family dwelling for a young couple on a plot on which there was already another home belonging to the family. The new building occupied the space formerly dedicated to the main house’s garden. Thus, the project had to reconcile these two realities, with its own image and identity and a facade design based on its own functionality and interior lighting. At the same time it was to be designed to integrate into the garden and offer a sense of continuity with the green area, thereby assuring a limited volumetric impact on the views of it from the other house. The project plans called for wood and glass for the home’s main and most representative facades. On the walls perpendicular to the views from the main house an innovative system of ceramic fabric was used to produce melding with the landscape.
