The architecture firm slapa oberholz pszczulny | sop architekten is developing joint projects for administrative, commercial, hotel, industrial and residential purposes, including airports, sports stadiums or buildings for teaching and research. Based in Dusseldorf with some 90 employees, the international firm is committed to a clear and timeless architectural language and offers every design brief, irrespective of the size of project or the type of building involved.
This includes urban planning analysis, sophisticated planning preparation, object planning through all work phases, project and construction management, coordination of all external partners, interior architecture, general contracting as well as the revitalisation of existing properties. Sustainable, energy-efficient architectural concepts are considered from the beginning of the design process, proven with numerous certifications and awards.
In addition to the eponymous Jurek M. Slapa, Helmut Oberholz and Zbigniew Pszczulny, who have been working together for more than 30 years, also Wolfgang Marcour and Lothar Simonis are the executive shareholders of the architecture firm. With buildings such as the Gap 15, the Hyatt Hotel in Media Harbour, the Merkur Spiel-Arena or the new Dusseldorf Airport, sop architekten have heavily influenced the face of Dusseldorf. Further signature references are e.g. Wroclaw’s UEFA Euro football stadium, the Campustower apartment building at Hafencity Hamburg, the extension of the Messe Dusseldorf, the Orjin Maslak business centre in Istanbul and the Terminal 1 Extension at Munich Airport.
