Based on the study of the program of needs and the characteristics of the site, an L-shaped house was designed, delimiting a well-tended interior garden. The integration of living and outdoor spaces has generated large porches that extend from the house entrance to the outdoor spaces, blurring the boundaries of the building.
The volumetry integrates the strategic positioning of openings and glazed fronts depending on the views from each room. The alternation of glazed elements and opaque panels aims at both the desired openness towards the garden and at providing the spaces with the necessary privacy.
A light-toned stone cladding unifies the volumetry and allows the facades to become visual backgrounds for a garden delimited by the building and configured as the central element of the project. In the porches, a darker stone with a ribbed texture reinforces the depth of the shaded spaces and refers to the interest in texturing the surfaces of closer contact.
In the interior, on the lower floors, large-format porcelain tile flooring is used. On the first and second floors, the floor is made of wood flooring, which is also used in carpentry and paneling, as well as in the openings of the large first floor openings.
The garden alternates the presence of shrubs with larger trees. The vegetation also extends to the roofs and facades.
In the southwest corner there is a swimming pool lined with greenish tones. The water is thus given a prominent presence in the garden and is part of the play of terraces and stairs that, with the darker tones of the stone used in the porches, delimit the perimeter of the garden and structure the accesses and slopes. The continuity of the external and internal paving and the choice of a similar shade reinforce the idea of blurring the boundaries between spaces.
