Site Specific, Surface/Subsurface, Public Natures, Evolutionary Infrastructures — the titles of the books by and about Weiss/Manfredi, the New York firm of Marion Weiss and Michael Manfredi, allude to the way their primarily institutional projects engage with the physical and cultural contexts in which they are built. Vladimir Belogolovsky recently spoke with Weiss and Manfredi, who founded their studio 35 years ago and are currently realizing projects in Pennsylvania, California, and other places as far away as India.
