The Aeschbachquartier Aarau is a mixed used working and living area which is located next to the Aarau city centre. The new quarter will form a link between the more dense new urban development in former industrial areas around the station and the small grain residential areas imbedded in green and park like surroundings.
The former industrial area and the new planned stadium will be transformed into an dense urban colourful city quarter providing three different character areas: an urban, an industrial and a garden village. The different character areas are organized around the central Oehler park. An inner boulevard will connect the east entrance with the green heart, crossing a variety of gastronomic and commercial program to the pulsing heart of the Aeschbachhalle, visible and accessible from all sites.
A great diversity of working and living typologies and a big range of different commercial program on ground level will satisfy the demands of modern urban lifestyles.
