The client, who had lived abroad for a long time, came back to Japan and chose Yamanashi as his final residence.
We wanted him to spend his quiet and leisurely time in a rich space, keeping in mind the old age he will face in the future.

Through the active space in the center of the building, the north side is a private space and the south side is the LDK with a large balcony and deck terrace.

Five top lights were installed in the active space. The light falling from them envelops the entire house. The private space on the north side also receives soft light from the top regardless of the weather.

The LDK, which is wide open to the south, has a balcony under the deep eaves extending from the large roof and a light-filled deck terrace.

The site is on a south-facing slope with a neighbor's house in front. The site is interspersed with trees native to Yamanashi, and stones from the site were actively used. The trees are placed in such a way as to gently protect her from the neighboring house and the view from the street side, and we tried to make her live a rich life surrounded by nature in a gentle way.

This house was arrived at by connecting each space in a large and spacious manner, aiming to create a house that envelops her with a generous roof.
