At a press conference in London today, the five finalists were announced for the 2015 EU Prize for Contemporary Architecture - Mies van der Rohe Award.
Two museums, a concert hall, a winery and a school are in the running for the prestigious award, which will be given out on the 8th of May at the Barcelona Pavilion. Between now and then the members of the jury will visit the five finalist works, taking in the architecture but also gathering first-hand accounts from the buildings' users. On the 7th of May, the architects will present their projects, their last chance in convincing the jury their building should be the winner.
The 5 finalists, presented below in alphabetical order of the country where they are located, were selected from a shortlist of 40 works determined by the jury from a much longer list of 420 nominated works. Click the project names for more information found on the EU Mies Award website.
