Shanghai-born architect, Pan Chengshou is regarded as the most important voice and representative of the new generation of architects. He has presided over and participated in a number of influential architectural projects, and his recent architectural practice focuses on a diversity of architectural genres that transcends boundaries, exploring the relationship between people, architecture, cities and the environment through the study and design of buildings of different scales and types. The human-centred approach brings the idea of ‘garden architecture’, which originates from the Eastern tradition, into the architectural practice, creating a friendly atmosphere and mood of dialogue between man and nature, heaven and earth. Pan Chengshou has attracted wide attention in the industry with his imaginative works such as China Eye Valley Exhibition Centre, Wuhan Optics Valley Neighbourhood Centre, Intelligent Industrial Park on top of Binhai Water Purification Plant, and Belt and Road International Supply Chain Project of Phoenix Green Valley Comprehensive Protection Zone. At the same time, through a series of domestic and international solo exhibitions, publications and art works, he also discusses with the public the cultural value of cities and architecture.

In 2020, Pan Chengshou researched and developed Zhejiang's first future community pilot ‘Ouhai Nanhu Future Community’, in 2021, he was selected for the Future Community Expert Pool, in 2024, he was selected by FDC AWARO Magazine as the ‘International Influential Cover Person of the Year 2024’, and in 2024, he was invited to join the American Institute of Architects, and in the same year, he also became the Royal Institute of Chartered Architects (RIBA), and in the same year, he became a registered architect of the United Kingdom. In 2024, he was invited to join the American Institute of Architects (AIA), and in the same year he became a registered architect with the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).
