Although initially resistant to the nostalgic turn – "What keeps people alive is not what you’ve done, what you’ve been, but what you will be and what you will do." – Piano delves into his past in the 45-minute interview and reveals how his family, nature, and the city influenced his path into architecture. It's a revealing interview that jumps around in time and place, from the past to the present and future, in and around the various cities where Piano works and has visited in his 80 years. It is another excellent installment in Louisiana Museum of Modern Art's series of films that give insight into the lives and working methods of today's best architects.
