Zaha Hadid's Revolutionary Design Process
A new video from Architectural Digest finds New York architect Michael Wyetzner delving into the Constructivist-inspired design process of Zaha Hadid—from her thesis at the Architectural Association and competition-winning entry for The Peak in Hong Kong, to MAXXI in Rome, the Contemporary Arts Center in Cincinnati, and other projects built before her death in 2016.
By looking at both built and unbuilt projects spanning more than 25 years, the 18-minute video from Architectural Digest reveals how Hadid was able to develop a new means of representation, one that resulted in completely unexpected buildings. Wyetzner clearly explains her design process in images and words, while also giving background information on abstract art and conventions of architectural drawings so viewers can better understand why Hadid remains such an influential architect today.
