Zeitz MOCAA's opening comes four months after the opening of The Silo, the hotel with a Heatherwick-designed facade that sits above the museum. Both projects comprise the renovation of a decommisioned grain silo in Cape Town. While the hotel's gem-like windows are striking from the outside, the museum is all about the atrium literally carved from some of the 42 cylindrical silos. The nearly 100-year-old silo now houses the Jochen Zeitz and Zeitz Foundation’s collection of contemporary art below the hotel's 28 rooms.
