In the short film recorded in the Manhattan office of Richard Meier & Partners Architects, Meier looks back on some of his projects, finding a "timeless quality" in their existence and recounting how much he loves designing museums, places where people come together "for enjoyment but also for learning." Known for his all-white buildings – "whiteness reflects nature...makes you more aware of the colors of nature" – Meier also describes an anomaly: an all-black building now under construction near the United Nations. This project reveals that Meier, at 83, is still open to new challenges.
