Xavier Vancells Arquitectura XVA (est. 2006) is a practicing contemporary architecture and design office based in Barcelona. XVA's work includes a wide range of scales from small to urban scale. Connectivity, re-programming, re-energization and reconfiguring act as  fundamental tools at XVA’s work, creating qualitative interactions between buildings and public space. The office is composed by a team of various architects working in close collaboration with external consultants. XVA's completed projects include the A4 Housing Project in Rubí (2011). the New ATHC Clubhouse in Terrassa (2010), the Sant Cugat City Hall in Barcelona (2009) and the Huarte Art Center in Navarra (2007). Planning and construction work has started on, among other projects, the Fire Station in Santa Coloma de Cervelló (Barcelona), the La Miranda Foundation in Llinars del Valles (Barcelona), and the Cultural Center in Sant Llorenç d’Hortons (Barcelona). The work of Xavier Vancells has received several awards and has been exhibited in the Venice Architecture Biennale (2012), Cité de l'Architecture & du Patrimoine in Paris (2009), the ArchitekturZentrum in Vienna (2009), and in the Deutsches ArchitekturMuseum in Frankfurt (2007).
