Taka Clinic
Chiba Prefecture, Japan
Comfort of molding with RC structure
Near JR Makuhari Station. The project involves the construction of a new clinic with a urology and dermatology department in an old fishing town. The surrounding area has many intricate and narrow streets, and the road adjacent to the site is also narrow. Under the strict site conditions of maximizing the building-to-land ratio, while dodging the road diagonals by setting back as much as possible, it was desired to create a visually expansive plan with a rational flow line while condensing the elements of the office space. The main structural walls inside the building were arranged like an exterior wall separating the treatment area from the waiting room, and the waiting room, which extends on a corridor around the treatment area, was positioned as a relative exterior. The waffle ceiling visually connects the waiting rooms, which are spread out in a U-shape. The ceiling of the examination room has a ring that looks as if it has been shifted from the outline of the partition wall of the room, blurring the area of the room and guiding the eye to the back of the room. Through rational functional arrangement and staging, we believe we have created a space with a sense of spaciousness despite its high density.
